Terms of Use

1. Eligibility and acceptance

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, to use the Services. If you are under the age of legal majority, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you. You may not use the Services if prohibited by applicable law, sanctions, export controls, or a binding legal restriction.

2. Limited license

Subject to these Terms, UMBRA grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules, including access through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple permits. The Services are licensed, not sold. You may not copy, distribute, rent, lease, sell, reverse engineer, interfere with, or create derivative works from the Services except where applicable law expressly permits.

The Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement is incorporated into these Terms and supplies the minimum end-user license terms required for an App Store application. These Terms are between you and UMBRA, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, maintenance, support, product claims, legal compliance, or intellectual-property claims.

If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, as required by its terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the applicable terms against you.

3. Accounts, devices, and security

UMBRA may use a pseudonymous device-based account. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device, Apple ID, and any server credentials you enter. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share authentication tokens, private server credentials, or access obtained through another person's subscription.

4. The VPN service

UMBRA provides software that requests an iOS VPN configuration and routes eligible device traffic through a selected VPN server. You authorize the app to create and manage that configuration when you choose to connect. Availability, speed, location, IP address, latency, compatibility, and uninterrupted operation are not guaranteed. A VPN does not provide complete anonymity, immunity from malware, or protection for traffic outside the configured tunnel.

Some websites, streaming services, financial services, employers, schools, governments, or network operators may block VPN traffic or restrict access based on location. You are responsible for determining whether VPN use is lawful and permitted where you are located and under any network or service agreement that applies to you.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use, or help anyone use, the Services to:

• violate applicable law, regulation, sanctions, court order, or the rights of others;
• access, distribute, or promote child sexual abuse material or other unlawful content;
• harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, defraud, or invade another person's privacy;
• send spam, conduct phishing, distribute malware, or operate a botnet;
• attack, scan, disrupt, overload, bypass, or gain unauthorized access to systems or networks;
• infringe intellectual property or distribute content without authorization;
• resell, share, or commercially exploit the Services without written permission;
• circumvent account, subscription, usage, geographic, or technical restrictions;
• interfere with the integrity or security of the Services.

We may investigate suspected abuse, preserve relevant records, cooperate with lawful authorities, restrict traffic, or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, infrastructure, or legal rights.

6. Auto-renewable subscriptions

UMBRA may offer weekly and monthly auto-renewable subscriptions, including products identified as weekly_20261020 and monthly_20261020. Features, duration, localized price, taxes, and any introductory offer are displayed in the purchase interface before you confirm payment.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm purchase.
• Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Apple may charge the renewal price to your account within 24 hours before the current period ends.
• You can manage or cancel in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• You may restore an eligible purchase in the app while signed in to the Apple ID used to purchase it.
• If a free trial or introductory offer is available, unused portions may be forfeited when you purchase another subscription, as permitted by Apple.

Prices may change as permitted by Apple and applicable law. Apple handles billing, payment credentials, refunds, and purchase disputes. Refund eligibility is governed by Apple's policies and applicable law. Request a refund through Apple's official purchase support channels.

7. Third-party services and content

The Services depend on Apple platform services, internet providers, hosting services, VPN infrastructure, public IP providers, and websites or services you access. Third parties may have separate terms and privacy policies, including wireless-data-service terms that apply to your device. You agree to comply with applicable third-party agreements. UMBRA does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, accuracy, or conduct. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

8. Intellectual property and feedback

UMBRA and its licensors retain all rights in the Services, including software, interfaces, graphics, trademarks, and documentation. These Terms do not grant you rights to use UMBRA names, marks, or brand assets except as needed to use the Services. If you submit feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use it to operate and improve the Services without obligation to compensate you.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. You must separately cancel an active subscription through Apple to prevent renewal. We may restrict or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, fail to pay applicable fees, abuse infrastructure, or if the Services are discontinued. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and general terms.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." UMBRA disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, and warranties arising from course of dealing. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, available in every location, compatible with every service, or capable of preventing all monitoring, tracking, interception, or cyber threats. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UMBRA and its affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, or service availability arising from or related to the Services. Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Services during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. General terms

These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement regarding the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Applicable mandatory consumer protections remain in effect. Any dispute should first be submitted to [email protected] so the parties can attempt an informal resolution. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of UMBRA, without overriding consumer protections or jurisdictional rights that cannot be waived.

We may update these Terms as the Services or law changes. Material changes will be identified by an updated effective date and, when appropriate, additional notice. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the Services and cancel any active subscription.
